What kinds of materials can I request through Interlibrary Loan?

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service where a user of one library can borrow books or receive photocopies of documents that are owned by another library. Currently enrolled students and employees of Auburn University are eligible to use interlibrary loan. For other patrons, please contact your local public library for interlibrary loan service. Below are some general guidelines for the types of materials that can and cannot be requested through Interlibrary Loan (ILL).

Materials that CAN be requested through Interlibrary Loan:
Books, articles, conference papers, proceedings, musical scores, newspapers, dissertations, theses, and other media as available can be requested, as well as materials in foreign languages.
Materials that CANNOT be requested through Interlibrary Loan:
Books less than three years old. Periodical volumes less than five years old, reference books, video tapes, bulky or fragile items, extremely old books, and rare or valuable material such as manuscripts generally cannot be supplied.
