What is the Bloomberg Terminal?

Answer

What is it?

Bloomberg is a platform designed for financial professionals that provides real-time and historical market data, news, and analysis. RBD's Bloomberg Terminal was donated to the library by the Raymond J. Harbert College of Business.

Where is it?

RBD Library’s Bloomberg terminal is located in the windowed alcove on the 2nd floor of RBD Library near the Macs and PCs. Other Bloomberg terminals are available to students, faculty, and staff of the Raymond J. Harbert College of Business and can be found in Lowder Hall.

Who can use it?

Only currently enrolled students and teaching faculty are able to use the library's Bloomberg Terminal. Other restrictions may apply to the terminals in Lowder Hall.

How can I use the terminal?

The first step is to make an account. To make an account, you'll need to bring your cell phone with you to the terminal, since you will be asked to authenticate by using a code sent to you via text message.

For some general information to help you get started, check out the link on this page to the "Introduction to Bloomberg" guide.

Also, Bloomberg has an in-depth video training program called Blooomberg University that can be accessed once you're logged into the terminal.
