I can't log in to some of my library account features. What should I do?
Library Account Access Update (beginning June 11, 2026)
Answer
What is changing?
Starting June 14, some library account features will change when you are:
- off campus, or
- using Auburn Wi-Fi (eduroam)
Will this affect me?
Most people will not notice a change if you are:
- on campus, or
- using a wired campus connection
This mainly affects you if you are:
- off campus, or
- using eduroam Wi-Fi
What can I still do?
You can still:
- search the library catalog
- view books and records
Searching and browsing will work as usual.
What will not work?
If you are off campus or on eduroam, the following will not work without Auburn GlobalProtect VPN:
- Renewing your books
- Placing a recall (requesting a book)
- Submitting a missing item (trace) request
I cannot renew my books. What should I do?
If you cannot renew your books:
- Email: aulcirc@auburn.edu
- Library staff will help you
I use the classic catalog (AubieCat). Will it still work?
- The classic catalog (AubieCat) may not work without VPN when you are off campus
What is the Auburn GlobalProtect VPN?
The Auburn GlobalProtect VPN is a secure connection.
It helps your device connect to Auburn systems when you are not on campus.
Do I need to use the VPN?
You may need to use the Auburn GlobalProtect VPN if you are:
- off campus, or
- using eduroam Wi-Fi
How do I get the Auburn GlobalProtect VPN?
Follow the instructions to get Auburn GlobalProtect VPN at aub.ie/getglobalprotect
If you need help:
- Visit the University IT Service Desk (3rd floor, RBD Library)
- Staff can help you install and use the VPN
Will the library be down?
No. There will be no downtime.
This change is to make services:
- more stable
- more reliable
Why is this change happening?
This change helps improve library services and reduce system problems.
